A Business Development Representative, is responsible for helping organizations obtain better brand recognition and financial growth. Their duties include coordinating with executives, sales and marketing professionals, reviewing current market trends and proposing new business ideas to improve revenue.

Most importantly, Bus. Dev. Rep are responsible for opening doors, developing and maintaining relationships with other companies. This includes customers and prospective customers.

The ideal candidate will bring relationships with several other companies with them when they start the position.

Magicbox Pit Crew Technician

Mobile LED Systems / Field Operations Technician

About the Role
Magicbox is hiring Magicbox Pit Crew Technicians, also known as MPC Techs, to support the deployment, setup, transformation, cleaning, and wrap of Magicbox’s mobile LED production systems, including Superstudio™ and Superstage™ units.
This is a hands-on, entry-level field operations role for someone who wants flexible production work and is interested in growing into mobile LED systems, virtual production, field operations, or on-set production support.

MPC Techs work in and around professional movie, television, commercial, live event, corporate, and other production environments. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, professional, mechanically minded, comfortable with physical work, and excited to be part of a fast-moving production technology company.
Schedule

This is a part-time, production-based position. Weekly hours will vary depending on production bookings, deployment schedules, training needs, and operational requirements.
MPC Techs should be comfortable with:

  • Split shifts around production days.

  • Early mornings, evenings, weekends, late Friday nights, and Sunday nights.

  • Variable production schedules.

  • Occasional short-notice calls.

  • Occasional travel outside the greater Los Angeles area.
     

For many booked production days, the anticipated time commitment is approximately 8 split hours, depending on the location, unit type, production needs, and scope of setup.
Magicbox typically aims to provide advance notice before productions, but production schedules can change quickly.

This is not a fixed weekly-hours position and is best suited for candidates who are comfortable with flexible, event-based production work.

Compensation
Paid training begins at the applicable California/local minimum wage during a typical 4–8 week training period.

After successful completion of training and deployment clearance, pay increases to $20–$35/hour, depending on experience, certifications, reliability, performance, and deployment responsibilities.

Magicbox complies with applicable California employment laws, including overtime, mileage reimbursement, paid travel time, and other wage-and-hour requirements. Travel time is paid according to Magicbox travel policy and applicable law.

Location / Service Area
This position is based out of Magicbox’s home base in Burbank, California.

The general service area is the greater Los Angeles area, including productions within the Los Angeles Thirty-Mile Zone / LA TMZ. Some travel outside Los Angeles, and occasionally outside California, may be required depending on production needs.

What You’ll Do
MPC Techs help prepare, deploy, transform, clean, and wrap Magicbox mobile LED units before and after booked productions.
Responsibilities may include:
 

  • Assisting with rapid setup, transformation, deployment, and teardown of Magicbox mobile LED units.

  • Supporting deployment of LED walls, stage platforms, control-room systems, cabling, power, HVAC, and internet equipment.

  • Performing pre-show and post-show systems checks.

  • Helping ensure the Magicbox unit is level, safe, clean, powered, operational, connected, and client-ready.

  • Loading, unloading, securing, cleaning, and inventorying equipment.

  • Running genlock cables.

  • Setting up Starlink internet.

  • Setting up car ramps when needed.

  • Troubleshooting basic LED, power, networking, and mechanical issues on site.

  • Supporting Magicbox crew as a production assistant when requested.

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, professional production environment throughout setup and wrap.

  • Following safety procedures around power, lifts, hydraulics, rigging, trailers, batteries, generators, and live production spaces.
     

Training
This is an entry-level position within Magicbox. Training is required before an MPC Tech is cleared for field deployments.
The initial training period is expected to last 4–8 weeks, depending on scheduling, production volume, candidate availability, performance, and demonstrated readiness. Additional training may be required from time to time.

MPC Techs must demonstrate safe, reliable, and professional execution of Magicbox setup, transformation, cleaning, wrap, and basic operational procedures before being assigned to field deployments.

Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Have a valid driver’s license.

  • Have reliable personal transportation.

  • Be willing and able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Be comfortable with physical work in active production environments.

  • Be responsive, reliable, punctual, and professional.

  • Be comfortable using phone, text, email, scheduling tools, and timekeeping systems as required.

  • Be willing to follow Magicbox safety procedures, site safety rules, and production requirements.

  • Be willing to sign Magicbox confidentiality agreements and follow production NDAs as required.
     

Driving company vehicles is not required for this position. Additional requirements may apply for employees approved to drive Magicbox company vehicles.

Helpful Experience
Prior experience is helpful but not required.
Helpful experience or certifications may include:
 

  • Live events, AV, film/TV production, virtual production, staging, touring, or broadcast.

  • Hands-on work with tools, cables, cases, trailers, trucks, loading docks, or production gear.

  • LED panels, video signal flow, power distribution, networking, HVAC, hydraulics, lighting, or camera-adjacent production systems.

  • Forklift operation.

  • Scissor lift operation.

  • Generator experience.

  • Electrical safety.

  • Rigging basics.

  • Set safety training.

  • Fire safety training.
     

The most important qualities are reliability, safety, professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Presentation / Uniform Expectations
MPC Techs are expected to arrive at the start of each shift clean, presentable, and in clean clothing.
Required or expected work attire may include:

  • Magicbox shirt.

  • Closed-toe shoes.

  • Black production attire.

  • Personal protective equipment as required.

  • Personal work gloves.

  • Clean, professional, production-appropriate appearance.
     

Crew members must maintain a professional appearance and be prepared to work in client-facing production environments.

Confidentiality / Professionalism
Magicbox Pit Crew Technicians may work on active film and television sets, studio lots, private locations, high-profile client sites, and confidential production environments.

Because of the nature of this work, the highest levels of discretion, confidentiality, professionalism, and set etiquette are expected at all times.

No photos, videos, behind-the-scenes content, social media posts, livestreams, or public sharing of production-related information are permitted unless specifically requested or approved by the client or Magicbox management.

Crew members may work around actors, talent, executives, public figures, high-profile clients, and confidential guests. MPC Techs are expected to remain professional at all times and may not approach, interrupt, photograph, record, request autographs from, or otherwise engage with talent, clients, guests, or production personnel unless required for assigned work.

Growth Opportunity
Individuals who successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this role may be asked to support the Magicbox operational crew on set during productions and may be considered for more advanced Magicbox field operations responsibilities over time.

The inside sales rep will identify potential customers, research them, and make customized sales pitches to demonstrate how the consumer would benefit from using Magicbox.

 

The goal of the inside sales representative is to establish a relationship with potential customers and keep them in the sales funnel by presenting them with opportunities to engage with the brand. These opportunities include in-person product demos, capabilities meetings, and project bids.
